Procomm Plus Configuration Settings


The following information is the configuration settings for the Procomm Plus 32 version of software to communicate with the CSR and Prizm family of Commercial Inserters using Windows NT 4.0 and Windows 95/98.

Follow the instructions on the installation process from the Procomm Plus User's Manual. Use the Standard installation option. The information listed below are the configuration settings after the installation of Procomm Plus 32.

Note: Verify that the modem has been installed on the PC computer before configuring Procomm Plus 32.

To run Procomm Plus 32, select the <Start> tab from the Windows Display, click <Programsick <Programs>, <Procomm Plus>, and then <Procomm Plus>. Then go to the Menu. Select the following and edit if necessary .


OPTIONS Tab

Systems Option
 
Modem Connection for the CSR: Select Add New Modem/Connection (select your modem)
                                                        Select Modem Connection Properties: (set the following)
                         bsp;                                 Baud rate: (baud rate of CSR), Parity Bit = ODD
                                                        Data Bits =7, Stop Bit =1 and Hardware Flow Control
                                                        Select "Make this connection available to Procomm Plus"
Modem Connection for the Prizm: Select Add New Modem/Connection (select your modem)
                          &nbbsp;                                Select Modem Connection Properties: (set the following)
                                                         Baud rate: (baud rate of Prizm), Parity Bit = None
                                                         Data Bits =8, Stop Bit =1 and Software Flow Control
                                                         Select "Make this connection ection available to Procomm Plus"
Dialing Options: Set your choice on dialing in attempts.
                            Select Dialing Properties: Edit your location where you will dial from.
System Options: (Leave as is)

Advanced: Current Data Options: Normal Options. Verify (Full Duplex). (Leave as is)

Verify that TVI910.kbd is selected. If not, OPEN it. Click the darkened lettered keys to edit their function.

All other darkened lettered keys (Non Function keys) in the Keyboard Editor does not need to be edited.

Configuring a telephone book for the CSR/Prizm

1)  From the Main Menu of Procomm Plus open the FILE menu.
2)  Select "Connection Directory". In this menu click FILE and select NEW.
3)  Click the "New Entry" icon (looks like an open book) and edit your information.
4)  Select and verify the following
:

Steps to begin communicating with the CSR/Prizm

   1)  Labeled on the keyboard are function keys F1 through F12. Each CSR/Prizm has an ID number/letter: 1-9 or A-F . Thebasic configurations on most CSR/Prizm systems use the numbering system .
   2)  If your CSR/Pt>2)  If your CSR/Prizm is labeled with ID "1", then to log on to it. You will need to press and hold the
         <CTRL> key down and press the <F1> key to log on .

    F1 = ID "1" F2 = ID "2" F3 = ID "3" F4 = ID "4" F5 = ID "5"

    F6 = ID "6" F7 = ID "7" F8 = ID "8" F9 = ID "9"

    If your CSR/Prizm has an ID of a letter (A, B, C, etc.), then you will need to press and hold <SHIFT> and <CTRL> then press the following keys .

    F10 = ID "A" F11 = ID "B" F12 = ID "C" F1 = ID "D"



    To log off properly press and hold the <CTRL> key and press an unused ID key. For example, <CTRL> F12.

    • The following information is specific for the CSR, not the Prizm. Refer to the Prizm User's Manual for operation. Note: After successful log on, the main menu (the Status Menu which is the display that you see upon logging on) of the CSR can control each VCR Deck by the use of the following key combination:

    This is only for the CSR and is not applicable to the Prizm.

    After logging on, press the <S> key to go into the SYSTEM SETUP MODE. This will allow you to configure your CSR. When you are in this menu some key combinations will be required.

    While in the SETUP MENU, F1- F12 keys can be selecteNU, F1- F12 keys can be selected by just by pressing the key by itself. However, to use the F13, F14, F15 and F16 keys choose the selected key combination below :
     
    F13 <SHIFT> + F1
    F14 <SHIFT> + F2
    F15 <SHIFT> + F3

    Warning: Do not select F16 from this menu if your CSR is a model 191/192. Doing so will erase your memory and all of the configuration settings and data from your CSR.
