Easy Operation
All cable connections on the CSS-MINI PLUS are clearly labeled for easy installation. Multicolor status indicators denote the various operating modes. Easily accessible setup switches allow multiple types of operation depending on specific application. Manual override buttons provide play, stop, or recue "on demand". The preview jack allows an operator to connect a monitor for viewing videotape presentations without interrupting the main program output. Direct interface with Texscan's SpectraGen Z series character generators provides easy event scheduling up to 7 days in advance. All this functionality is available in a slim design, only a single rack unit high.

Smooth Switching
The CSS-MINI PLUS is designed with several return to primary modes to ensure smooth vertical interval switching transients.

Flexibility
In the event of VCR or secondary signal failure the system will revert to the primary input. An adjustable VCR pre-roll setting assures the tape deck is up to speed at the time of switch to provide a clean transition between the primary video source and the secondary VCR source. The pre-roll function also can be disabled for switching other sources not requiring the pre-roll delay.

The CSS-MINI PLUS is a low-cost, multifunctional controller for VCR and Audio/Video. Three program inputs allow the CSS-MINI PLUS to switch from one source to another. While airing a primary source such as satellite signal or text generator the CSS-MINI PLUS can periodically switch to one or two secondary sources such as VCRs when cued from an external device. When the VCR program is finished the CSS-MINI PLUS switches back to the primary source. Other primary and secondary inputs could include text channels, graphics generators or other CSS-MINI PLUS's.

VCR Control
The CSS-MINI PLUS can be used as a VCR controller to generate play, rewind and stop commands. Typically, as a VCR controller, it is used to playback one or more video segments such as promotional videos, employee communication programs or training tapes. Several CSS-MINI PLUS and VCR combinations can be cascaded to provide multiple sequential, deck playback control. The CSS-MINI PLUS is triggered by line level changes originating from a DTMF tone decoder, contact closure, character generator, manual pushbutton, or another CSS-MINI PLUS. Playback tapes may be edited with stop and rewind tones by an internal tone generator built into the CSS-MINI PLUS. An optional hand held tone generator can also be used to edit tones on the tape.
